An opportunity of meeting for operators and a satellite activity of the cinema industry of Lucania region with national and local Institutions, with the aim of starting a constructive dialogue and a constant debate and with the aim of imagining future strategies and shared solutions to the main problems of the sector.
The session will start from the analysis of the actions to be taken, identified during the initiative of the co-planning tables. This was conceived and made by the Lucana Film Commission, with a view to becoming a catalyst of the bodies of operators and a mediator with the institutions in order to involve them and support them to implement policies in line with the real needs and problems of Lucanian companies.

Get ready for an exclusive discussion of PGA’s Green Production Guide (GPG), the main tool designed to reduce the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the film, television and streaming platform industries. The Producers Guild of America has in fact recently updated and redefined the Green Production Guide, a protocol signed by the PGA Green Committee task force that promotes sustainable production practices and a strong message on the climate also through storytelling. Two of the co-founders of the Green Task Force will be speaking in Matera, Katie Carpenter, award-winning documentary producer, specializing in environmental issues and Lydia Dean Pilcher, winner of two Emmy Awards and Oscar-nominated producer of over 40 feature films with author directors including Wes Anderson, Barry Levinson and Kathryn Bigelow.

The convention “THE COPYRIGHT DIRECTIVE. AUDIOVISUAL IN THE DIGITAL WORLD” will stimulate the attention of the jurists and cinema and television entrepreneurs, who will be present, on the current situation as regards the protection of the rights of all the categories involved in the various sectors of the production and of the dissemination of intellectual works.
The historical moment, in which the convention is held, is characterized by new impulses aimed at reconciling, on one hand, the interest of authors and producers and, on the other, the expectations of the community to enjoy more and more widely and more easily these works.
We are living, therefore, a sensitive time for the legislator who will hopefully balance these two opposing expectations to a reasonable extent and in a reasonable form when transposing this new copyright directive.
Therefore, the legislator, in dealing with transposition, will not be able to neglect the solutions which will be underlined during our conference.

High-end international co-production. How soon will it return?
High-end international copros, a growth area over the last few years, has seen a significant downturn during the pandemic. While this drop off is inevitable, for many it’s a situation that’s not easily rectifiable, given the variables in legislation, quarantining and state-driven insurance measures from territory to territory. We will discuss with international key players working in the global drama ecosystem and will analyze the scenario for bold, high-end international contents.

The MAXIMO Award is an important recognition to the greater protagonists of the Italian audiovisual world which APA has attributed for several years as part of the Roma Fiction Fest.
The Association, in agreement with the Lucana Film Commission, principal organizer of the 1st edition of the Audio-Visual Producers Summit, felt it was right to take the opportunity to return to reward and promote the Italian excellence especially today, that the Italian audiovisual sector is experiencing a strong growth and that it has been able to face, in an extraordinary way, the unexpected and complex challenges, which have overwhelmed every industrial sector in the last year.
The awards will be assigned by a jury, after a careful selection of shortlisted titles, chosen for the following recognitions:
APA and Lucana Film Commission will also attribute two MAXIMO Excellence. The jury of MAXIMO 2021 will be composed of the actress Maria Pia Calzone, of the writer, author and screenwriter Barbara Cappi, of the director and screenwriter Stefano Sardo and of the producer Matteo Levi, President of the Jury.

L’Audio-Visual Producers Summit è un evento dedicato agli incontri tra esponenti di primo piano dell’industria audiovisiva internazionale, con un focus specifico sulla realizzazione di serie e film per la TV, le piattaforme digitali e sul mercato globale della produzione scripted.
L’iniziativa è organizzata dalla Lucana Film Commission, per APA-Associazione Produttori Audiovisivi, in associazione con PGA-Producers Guild of America, con il supporto del Ministero della Cultura-Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo, MAECI-Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale, Ice-Agenzia, e Istituto Luce-Cinecittà.
La manifestazione combina attività di networking, panel e incontri business per instaurare e rafforzare le relazioni tra i professionisti del settore audiovisivo e promuovere nuovi accordi di collaborazione.
L’AVPSummit ha, inoltre, l’obiettivo di sostenere e valorizzare il potenziale della creatività e della professionalità del Sud Italia, generando nuovi interessi e promuovendo efficaci cooperazioni tra gli operatori locali ed esteri.

Lucana Film Commission
Dal 2012, Lucana Film Commission promuove la produzione di opere cinematografiche, audiovisive e pubblicitarie italiane ed estere in Basilicata, offrendo sostegno a tutti i professionisti del settore interessati a girare nella regione. LFC è impegnata a favorire la valorizzazione del patrimonio storico, artistico e ambientale della Basilicata, nonché delle risorse professionali e tecniche attive sul territorio regionale, con l’obiettivo di creare le condizioni per lo sviluppo dell’industria audiovisiva locale.LFC offre assistenza per il rilascio di autorizzazioni alle riprese nel territorio, fornice informazioni generali e specifiche su finanziamenti e bandi, e consulenza nella ricerca di location e professionisti locali. Nel 2020 LFC ha rinnovato la propria struttura organizzativa per potenziare i servizi a supporto delle produzioni che scelgono di girare in Basilicata, creare un hub per incontri internazionali di altissimo livello e fare da volano per la promozione di tutta la regione.
APA – Associazione Produttori Audiovisivi
Rappresenta oltre l’80% della produzione audiovisiva italiana, è costantemente impegnata a rafforzare la visibilità internazionale del settore.
